External microphone stops working after a while

I use samsung headset that came with my galaxy s3 phone. It works perfectly for some time, but then just stops working - actually it shows no input level on a preferences panel and nobody hears me. If I unplug and plug it back - it starts to work again. I can't see anything relevant in the system logs. mbp mid 2015
